Kildare County Council, in consultation with the community and other stakeholders, is making a new County Development Plan that will shape the future growth of Kildare over the next 6 years and beyond. The review commenced on Thursday the 2nd of April 2015 and will take up to 2 years to complete, concluding with the publication of the Kildare Development Plan 2017-2023.
The County Development Plan is adopted by the Councillors. It will include a written statement and maps that will set out the strategic spatial vision and future direction for the Kildare over a six year period up to 2023 and into the future.
The review presents an opportunity to shape the future growth of Kildare by building on our strategic advantage as a County and our previous successes. The new County Development Plan will establish the planning context to ensure that we maximise the strengths of our citizens, communities, built and natural heritage, infrastructure, economy and tourism to their full potential.
Your input matters. This is your community and your County. The new County Development Plan will set the framework for the decisions that will impact on your future for years to come.
