North Kildare Chamber in association with the Athy Enterprise Network* held its third ‘First Friday’ to promote enterprise and commerce in the Athy Municipal District and South Kildare area. 20 businesses were in attendance at the Clanard Court Hotel to hear Social Media expert, Amanda Webb of Spiderworking, give a comprehensive presentation on how to enable small businesses to be more successful using Social Media and blogging. Amanda Webb has been a social media professional for 11 years working as a marketer, consultant and trainer for SMEs.
Amanda explained the ‘Buying Cycle’ and how to engage with your customers on Social Media through each stage from initial awareness through to buying and retaining loyalty. She stressed the importance of developing a ‘Customer Persona’ and how to decide which platform to use e.g. Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram.
Attendees got many practical tips on how to curate and edit content using a broad range of sources such as Scoop It!, Hyperlapse and Boomerang with several examples demonstrated through successful online examples.
Athy’s next ‘First Friday’ will be held on 6th May 2016 with a presentation by the building product manufacturing company, Tegral Ltd.
