Chambers Ireland today (4 August 2016) announced the shortlist for the Excellence in Local Government Awards 2016 with a total of twenty three local authorities shortlisted over sixteen categories. Kildare County Council have been shortlisted in 5 different categories.

Sustaining the Arts: 1916 Sackville Street Art Project
Heritage and Built Environment: John Devoy – The Greatest of Fenians
Commemorations & Centenaries: 1916 Sackville Street Art Project
Commenting on the announcement of the shortlist, Allan Shine, Chief Executive of North Kildare Chamber said, “ The Chamber is delighted to see the council nominated in 5 different categories. North Kildare Chamber were the nominating Chamber for the applications. The shortlist for the 2016 Excellence in Local Government Awards highlights the dedication shown by Kildare County Council across a range of categories, from promoting health and wellbeing to sustaining the arts.”
The award winners in each category will be announced in November and one local authority will be awarded the overall award and named Local Authority of the Year 2016.
