With the kids now back in school after a long summer, it’s time to start planning your next ‘great escape’. The Halloween midterm is always an opportune time to recharge the batteries and spend some valuable time with your mini ghouls and goblins. The K Club in Straffan, County Kildare’s Five AA Red-Star hotel, has added even more treats to its Halloween deal.
The Halloween Midterm break package includes two nights’ bed and breakfast and dinner on one evening in the Byerley Turk Restaurant and is priced from €290 per adult sharing. To add to all the spooky fun, there will be a complimentary fun ‘Bat Talk and Walk’ on Saturday, October 28th in the hotel. The talk will be both educational and entertaining for adults and children alike with a bat expert explaining what types of bats are currently resident in Ireland, what they like to eat and where they can be found. After the talk, children will be given a bat sonar listening devices before heading out in fancy dress costume to spot bats on the expansive grounds.
The complimentary kids club, K Cubs offers lots of interactive and fun activities for children including arts and crafts, face painting and duck races on the River Liffey which flows through the estate. K Cubs will have lots of themed Halloween activities going on every day including learning how to make your own scary mask and playing traditional Halloween games such as Bobbing for Apples and Pin the Tail on the Donkey. The kids club will run every day during the midterm break and this year will also open nightly from 7.00pm until 10.00pm which means parents can enjoy dinner together while the children are being entertained.
