20 years of winners were celebrated at The National Enterprise Awards in the Mansion House, with Local Enterprise Office Kildare’s finalist Terra Liquid Minerals competing for the 2018 title. Terra Liquid Minerals was named Overall 2018 Winner of the National Enterprise Awards and presented this prestigious title by Minster Pat Breen T.D.

To be selected as the overall winner of the National Enterprise Awards is humbling considering the caliber of the other regional winners. What this means for our business is huge – both for our team who helped us get to where we are, and for the recognition of this award. It will be vital in attracting future international partners.

Much thanks must fo to Jacqui McNabb and the team in Kildare Local Enterprise Office for the support given to us during the last year. I’d urge any business to make contact with LEO Kildare to avail of the incredible supports to grow their business.

Padriag Hennessy.

Athy brothers, Tom and Padraig Hennessy, established Terra Liquid Minerals 6 years ago. The brothers have developed an intelligent mineral dosing system and specialise in the accurate delivery of its custom-made formulation to livestock. The TLM controller is an automated mineral dispensing system for livestock, overcoming variations in water consumption to ensure that a herd received the correct daily dosage of minerals irrespective of weather or other environmental factors. In doing so TLM product significantly improves the health, milk yield and financial output per animal.

Having used the Irish market to test and develop their product, TLM are positioned for international growth and have been supported in their expansion by Local Enterprise Office Kildare.

LEO Kildare could not have been prouder to have been represented by Padriag, Tom and the Terra Liquid Minerals team. This is a hugely competitive award and very well deserved. The TLM team first engaged with LEO Kildare early in 2015. Since then they have untaken significant training programmes including Management Development and Lean. With LEO Kildare’s support they have grown their team to 10 and are preparing for expansion into the UK and Europe. LEO Kildare will be delighted to support TLM further in the progression to Enterprise Ireland and the development of their export strategy. A great success story from Athy,

Jacqui Mc Nabb, Head of Enterprise, LEO Kildare.

As overall winners of the National Enterprise Awards, the title also comes with a significant prize – Terra Liquid Minerals have won €10,000 investment for their business.

According to a survey* from the Local Enterprise Offices, released this week, previous winners of the National Enterprise Awards now employ 832 people and generate over €131 million in turnover, €58 million of which is generated from exports to 52 countries.  Since winning, 11 of the companies have scaled-up their businesses to become Enterprise Ireland clients.

Minister Breen said:

The National Enterprise Awards are a fitting way to recognise the contribution of Ireland’s most innovative, strategic and adaptive businesses, and to put their success stories into the national spotlight as an example to others.  I would like to congratulate all the micro-enterprises and small businesses that are being celebrated here tonight.  This year’s winners, like all those in previous years, represent the backbone of Ireland’s enterprise success and contribute hugely to the economic vibrancy of their respective regions.  All this year’s finalists and winners have been supported by my Department through the Local Enterprise Office network.  I would like to pay tribute to the hard work and vision of the network, and would encourage those with business ideas to get in touch with their local office for expert guidance and advice.

Funding for the Local Enterprise Offices is provided by the Government of Ireland through Enterprise Ireland, and further details about the supports on offer to small businesses are available through www.localenterprise.ie.
