County Kildare Chamber, the largest business organisation in the Mid-East representing over 400 businesses who in turn employ 37,000 people welcomed IDA’s announcement of 40 target investments for the region over the next 4 years today (7th January).

Allan Shine, Chief Executive of the Chamber said, “ This is very positive news considering the current economic situation we find ourselves in. Kildare and the Mid-East Region is well positioned to welcome further foreign direct investment.  Our highly skilled workforce, the attractiveness of our region coupled with the quality of life we enjoy and our excellent infrastructure provision & connectivity ensures we are well placed to secure investment. There is a wide and varied mix of available property solutions (public and private) in the region and IDA have invested hugely with the purchase of a strategic landbank in Newbridge recently.

The region is already home to Intel, Pfizer, Paypal, Elavon and Merck and with our young vibrant workforce, our University in Maynooth and our eco system of start-ups and vibrant innovation hubs we will welcome further investment eagerly.

We in the Chamber continue to promote the region nationally and internationally and engage on a regular basis with our key partners in Boston following several trade visits to the city in recent years.  Keurig DR Pepper’s recent 50 job announcement to Newbridge, MSD announcing 240 jobs for Dunboyne and Takeda’s expansion announcement in Bray demonstrate the capability and attractiveness of the region.

Shine concluded by saying, “IDA Ireland are excelling in attracting businesses to set up in Ireland.  Competition is fierce in the global market place and we are very fortunate that IDA Ireland continue to excel year on year in securing a mix of fast growth and early stage companies with high potential to Ireland.”
