Naas based Dooley Insurance Group strengthened its sponsorship at Punchestown Racecourse yesterday (30th of April) by sponsoring the Grade One Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase. The €100,000 race is one of the highlights on the opening day and the race did not disappoint the 17,464 strong crowd which watched Davy Russell steer Delta Work to victory by 12-lengths.
Much of the extended three-mile journey was led by Drovers Lane and Articulum while Davy Russell took his time before upping the gears on Delta Work to seal his victory. The Gigginstown House Stud-owned six-year-old has been the star of Ireland’s staying novice division this season and won his first three starts over fences including Grade One wins at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown.
The Naas-based brokers celebrate 62 years in business this year and launched an Equine Insurance Division over two years ago in order to combat the lack of obtainable insurance cover for those working in the equine industry. Dooley’s identified a shortage of Custody & Control and European Covers in Ireland and have since created tailored equine insurance policies for several stud farms and trainers.
The official insurance partner of Punchestown Racecourse now ‘top and tail’ the festival as the opening race on the final day is also sponsored by the group, The Dooley Insurance Group WFA Cross Country Steeplechase will run on Saturday, 4th of May.
Tim Dooley, Managing Director of the Dooley Insurance Group said, “We are delighted to sponsor racing during the Punchestown Festival, it has allowed us to communicate our brand to a huge audience at home and abroad. We are embracing our local track and see our involvement with Punchestown as a partnership which has grown and strengthened since we first got involved two years ago.”
