#makeadifference with Life Credit Union this International Credit Union Day
On 18th October 2018, Life Credit Union are celebrating 60 years of Credit Unions putting their members and communities first. This year they are celebrating by getting their members to choose a local charity that Life CU will donate to.
Sean Murray, CEO states “International Credit Union Day is about celebrating what’s unique about Credit Unions – our focus on supporting our local communities and putting people at the heart of everything we do. This year we want to include our members, and get them involved in helping us to give back to their community. We have chosen 2 great local charities, and hope that people will get on board and vote for the charity that they want us to donate to.”
Life Credit Union will donate €10 for every person that joins Life CU, applies for a loan or draws down their loan on International Credit Union Day (Thursday 18th October). And they want your help to decide where that money goes. There are 2 great local charities to choose from – Kildare Enable Ireland and Shine in Maynooth.
Kildare Enable Ireland provides services to children and adults with disabilities. They focus on the person, not the disability, and believe that access, inclusion and equality are basic rights for all people. Covering childhood to adulthood, their expert teams work with the individual and their family on a plan for each life stage. More information can be found at www.enableireland.ie.
Shine is based in Maynooth, and aims to empower people with mental ill health and their families through support, information and education. They advocate for social change, promoting and defending the right of all those affected by mental ill health to equal rights and quality services. Shine relies on donations to continue its work and provide much needed services to people with mental ill health as well as their family members and carers. More info can be found on their website at www.shine.ie/
You can place your vote in any of Life CU’s 4 branches in Naas, Monread, Newbridge and Maynooth, or through their Facebook or Twitter pages, www.facebook.com/lifecu, and www.twitter.com/AskLifeCU
