Following on from a County Kildare Chamber trade mission to Boston last year, which included a day trip to Quincy MA, the Quincy Chamber of Commerce are now set to embark on a two-day visit to Kildare, guided by Chamber CEO Allan Shine.
“When in Boston last year with a delegation of 25 businesses, we visited the city of Quincy with a guided tour by Tim Cahill, the CEO of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce. Tim arranged a fantastic itinerary for our group including a meeting with the Mayor, Thomas P. Koch and an exclusive tour of the United First Parish Church & Quincy University. Now it’s time we return the favour and showcase what Kildare has to offer” said Mr. Shine.
During their trade visit to Kildare, the delegation will be welcomed with a civic reception in the Kildare County Council offices – followed by an exclusive tour of Kerry Group, a visit to the Irish National Stud, Maynooth University, Newbridge Silverware and Kildare Village.
Jennifer Forster, Marketing & Communications Manager at County Kildare Chamber said: “The Quincy Chamber team were very welcoming to our delegation on our trade mission last year. We’re excited to offer them a ‘Céad Míle Fáilte’ to Kildare, while showcasing the many attributes our County has to offer for any future FDI opportunities that might come our way off the back of this visit.”
The Kildare relationship with the City of Boston continues to grow with Allan Shine attending St Patrick Day functions in March in Boston and there is a further business delegation from Kildare going to Boston later this year on a 5 day trade mission. Business was completed on the recent trade mission and one of those, VEI Global are at contract stage for signing an alliance partnership with a major east coast telecoms provider to extend their services into Europe. VEI Global in Naas will be setting up a US base in Boston this year as a result of the trade mission.
